Barb started working at K9 Central Pet Resort Training and Spa Inc. (formally Superdog Central) in June of 2007. Barb has always loved animals and has over 20 years of grooming experience. When Barb isn’t at K9 Central she works at her own successful dog grooming business; Shampoodles in Whitby, ON which is has owned and operated since 1995. She continuously offers stylish, professional cuts for dog owners

 

 and is a member of the International Professional Groomers Association and Ontario Dog Groomers Association. She continuously makes sure she is on top of the latest trends through the association’s advanced grooming workshops. As well Barb was the moving force behind Pooch-a- Palooza which is an energetic dog grooming competition and a great opportunity for Durham Region dog groomers to get out, have fun, meet and learn from other groomers from all over Canada!!  Barb also participates in the Annual All about Pets Rescue Rodeo held every Easter Weekend; a specialized grooming competition that pairs rescue dogs up for adoption with groomers at a fun and educational competition for the public. Barb is also the winner of numerous 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place awards from various grooming competitions including the prestigious award of Best Groomed Dog by an Ontario Dog Groomers Association Member. Also on occasion Barb takes some of the Standard Poodle Rescues home. Barb plays an active role in helping the rescue organization know how the dogs are in a home environment and what their likes and dislikes are. Barb currently owns 2 canines; Gilbert a Miniature Poodle who is fourteen years old and Knox a Schnauzer Mix who is two years old and Loogi and five year old Cornish Rex feline.
